Hybrid Classes
After the pandemic, there was a need for online classes, when the schools were shut and it was not possible for the schools to operate in a fully offline manner. Most of the schools, coaching institutes and training academies, therefore, shifted to the online medium. However, there were basic problems associated with the online classes:
- Discipline- This was one of the major issues with the students and to some extent teachers as well. There was a clear lack of motivation seen in the students and were easily distracted. They would find various methods to dodge the classes citing network/ device issues. Some would turn off the camera and go out to play.
- Internet/ Connectivity: Many times, students were not able to attend the classes to connectivity issues in their homes, power cuts, etc.
- Device: Thousands of students were not equipped with proper electronic infrastructure that was compatible with the video conference software like Zoom and Teams.
These obstacles led us to improvise and come up with the concept of a Hybrid class. Teachers would take online classes in a controlled, monitor-equipped coaching centre even in remote areas of the country. Students would walk to their nearest coaching facility which bolstered discipline among the students. The internet connection and the device aspects were taken care of by the Hybrid centre itself. We have got some great feedback and students' improvement curve by going the Hybrid way.
